Beautiful old hotel; helpful concierges
Beautiful old hotel, but needs some renovation, especially the availability of outlets by the bed. They assumed we wanted an "accessible" room, so put us next to the elevator, which is very loud (mechanism and people loading/unloading). The hotel was full, so we couldn't move rooms until the second day. They were nice about it, but it was annoying. On the positive, the concierges, especially Giacomo Matozza and also Pieter Feith, were very helpful in planning itineraries and purchasing tickets during our stay (including small group canal tour through the hotel, Rijksmuseum, Heineken Experience and De Kas Restaurant for lunch). Would stay again.

Bustling Luxury Hotel Delivers
Loved the hotel. Well-situated in the heart of Amsterdam, on the busiest of the three original canals, the hotel offered a plush experience made possible by the exceptional staff. From welcoming check-in to helpful concierge, smiling restaurant staff (appreciated in the morning) and lovely housekeeping, these people were not only professional but personable and interested in making our stay in their city worthy of 5 stars. The room was small but that was expected. The food in the restaurants was excellent. The bar was cozy and nice. The neighborhood was great - run next door to Reel7 for a quick lunch or the exceptional banana bread or down the street to Vernal for dinner or walk a bit to Dominica to dine among local foodies. If you want a treat, book a food tour with Anne at Hungry Birds. And if you're feeling adventurous, get on one of the hotel's bikes out front. I mention all these because the hotel can hook you up big time as they did us. Relax while you're there, the Pulitzer has got you.

I would return to this hotel. I liked it a lot.
The hotel's location is excellent, in Jaardam. Very nice area where it is located. It has parking for the car. The room, despite not having a canal view, had a very large interior garden view, which made it very bright.

- • I would have liked more availability of bicycles to rent at the hotel. When I wanted to rent one, there was none available, and they referred me to a rental shop, but it was very far away.
Good accommodation, despite the maze to get to the room. Good restaurant
