Great service and faculity

Lovely

Lovely view of the city and 101 from the roof top. Love that the room we had was spacious and fit the family comfortably. The kids loved the room.

GOOD AND COMFORT STAY

We had a good stay here. Everything is within our expectations. As Taiwan has the Environmental Management Administration by Ministry of Environment, hence all the hotels stop providing disposable personal amenities in the hotel rooms. But you can still request for these disposable personal amenities like shower cap, tooth brush, tooth paste, razor, cotton swabs etc from the hotel reception. The hotel is clean and housekeeping is good. The train station is about 8 to 10 mins walk so it is not so near. Our room is able to view the Taipei 101 building. The swimming pool & the roof top have good views of the Taipei city. The pool water has temperature setting so you do not feel cold even in the winter period if you want to have a swim. The staffs are helpful & polite. Keep it up.

Truly a 5-star experience

It is my second time staying at the Shangri-La Far Eastern chain and it truly did not disappoint. Right from the start of our stay, the staff displayed professionalism, warmth and sincerity and this reflects the hospitality of the Shangri-La team. We stayed at the Premier Taipei 101 View room and the view of Taipei 101 was gorgeous. Room was well-appointed and housekeeping looked into every aspect of the room cleanliness to ensure that it was sparkling clean. We are impressed!! We loved how the room was so spacious and comfortable and I must comment that the water pressure from the shower was excellent too. In all, it was such a wonderful way to end our trip to Taipei! We cannot wait to be back again. :)

Excellent, with Kids Welcoming lounge

Can easily make to my list of top 5 or even top 3 hotels. Rooms clean with excellent housekeeping, generous upgrade to a suite (although just being a base member), welcome fruits, turndown service with a little bookmark each night (we managed to get different ones each night which my son was happy to collect). The hotel was also well located in Taipei (although not in a touristy or shopping area). Train station was quite a bit of a walk (about 15 mins?). Service was probably the most warmth I receive in a Taiwan hotel in this trip. Room value and service offered was simply excellent. Lounge allows kids to be in at all times (as long as they are quiet), which is rarely seen in upper 5 star hotels. Shangri-la is currently emphasising on being more family and kids friendly in. There is still much more opportunities that Shangri-la Taipei to match the global branding concept. Having a little bit more Kids friendly activities, better amenities, kids friendly food, kids friendly service, etc. will make it up to mark.

Amazing Stay at an Amazing Hotel.

As you would expect from Shangri-La, this is a world class luxury hotel. From the moment you step into reception its very evident this is one amazing hotel where everything is about the guest. I have to rate this hotel a 10/10 from staff service, room, food, horizon club lounge, everything. We have been to many Shangri-La; this has to be one of the best. Special shout to the Lifeguards at the roof top pool, you are amazing!

Exquisite hotel in a great location!

From the moment you walk into the lobby, your senses will embrace their distinctive aromatherapy, exotic floral arrangements, warmly lit ambiance, and very attentive, friendly and professional staff. The rooms are beautifully decorated and it’s impossible to hear any noise from anywhere! From the hotel, there is a robust night market, entertaining day market, hiking and bike riding along the river all within walking distance. Highly recommended as there is no place better!

High end experience, it is a Shangri-la. The view is breathtaking. The lounge is a plus. The pool is really great.

Cena za śniadanie dość wysoka, ale za to bardzo szeroki wybór dań z różnych kuchni azjatyckich. Pokój wystarczająco duży, bardzo cichy, dobrze umeblowany. Do wyboru wanna i prysznic. Łóżko bardzo wygodne, do wyboru dwa rodzaje poduszek - miękka i twarda. Widok na Taipei 101 wart miliona dolarów. Basen na dachu z ogromnym jacuzzi zachęca do odwiedzenia bez względu na pogodę. Relaksowalam się w basenie nawet wtedy gdy padał deszcz i w ogóle mi to nie przeszkadzało. Z pewnością kiedyś wrócę do tego hotelu.

Luxury Hotel with great staff

This hotel is worth a splurge. The room itself was elegant with super comfortable bed and high-quality sheets. Great views of Taiwán. There are multiple restaurants in the hotel catering to all different cuisines. Staff could not have been more helpful. Most spoke good English. The rooftop pool is spectacular. Only small negative. There is no changing room with the pool. If you want to use the other facilities you have to go down in the elevator and pass the café to get there Once you do it is a very nice spa. Had a wonderful massage that really helped with sore muscles after long flight.

Entered my room without notice and kept disturb me before checkout time

I booked with Amex FHR so I'm getting the checkout time of 4pm per rate condition. I did not get any room upgrade as I should because Hotel told me there was no upgrade room available even I can see the availability on the website. On the checkout day the housekeeping staff entered my room without any notice at 1:30pm while I was still in my room. I was scared. I told her my checkout time is 4pm and told her to leave. At around 3pm the house keeping staff ring my bell again. They didn't entered my room but I had to tell them that my checkout time is 4pm. And at 3:40pm the house keeping staff ring my bell again!! God damn why can't they respect my rest time before the checkout time. The hotel staff had zero respect on the guest's privacy and rest. They entered the room without notice. Kept disturbing guest prior to the checkout time. And when I reported the issue during checkout, the staff had zero interest in addressing the problem.

Good Location. Clean . Neat . Quiet

We couldn't have asked for a better introduction to Taipei than to stay at the top floor 32nd floor of this hotel with a view to Taipei 101 on the night of the fireworks for Taiwan National Day. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left, the service was impeccable. The hotel facilities are the best you could ask for. We found the hotel well placed to explore the city. Being this my first time far into Asia, I decided to leave the car rental for when I'd be in Taipei, and the concierge of the hotel was able to arrange that for us with great professionalism.

Eines der höchsten Gebäude in Taipei, sehr schöne Vorfahrt und ein superprofessionelles Team im gesamten Haus! Auch der Empfangsbereich und die Lobby sind atemberaubend! Der RooftopPool ist schön angelegt mit großem Jacuzzi, wirklich sehr angenehm. Die großen Fenster im Bereich der Liegen lassen einen wundervollen Ausblick zu (48. Etage). FamilyMart, 7eleven, Reinigung, Starbucks, BurgerKing, eine Menge toller Restaurants und ein Nachtmarkt in kurzen Fußwegen erreichbar. Nochmal erwähnenswert das höchstprofessionelle und sehr aufmerksame Personal! Das Housekeeping veredelte unseren Aufenthalt täglich! Die MRT-Station Liuzhangli in 7-8Minuten per Fuß zu erreichen und für nichteinmal einen €uro zum HotSpot Ximending (einmal umsteigen!)

Nice experience

Loved the view my Horizon club room had of 101. The club was nice and the staff friendly. Favorite is the great breakfast. So many choices and local foods to sample. Just wish the rooftop pool wasn't closed. Had a facial it was very nice at their spa. Make sure you don't get the treatment room with the loud air condition, I had to switch rooms after I was already relaxing! I would recommend and return.

Great to be back

I keep coming back to Shangri-La’s Far Eastern, Taipei for both work and fun, and it’s still my top pick in the city. This is my second time reviewing this hotel, and as a Diamond member, I’m always blown away by the Horizon Club staff. They all remember my name, every single time! Big thanks to Steven, Beatrice, Stacy, and Anita for their amazing work. The housekeeping crew is just as awesome and friendly, and so are the telephone operators and in-room dining team. That said, a couple things need fine-tuning in terms of Diamond recognition. The main lobby reception staff didn’t seem to know much about Diamond member perks, like the late check-out until 6 PM. Also, I was disappointed to find out the bulk wash-and-fold laundry service is gone. I really hope they bring it back. All in all, I had a fantastic stay at Shangri-La’s Far Eastern and can’t wait to return.

Lovely hotel with great views

Disappointed

I chose this hotel based on good reviews, but my stay was disappointing. On 17 August 2025, at around 8:23pm during check-in, the counter staff seemed unsure whether my Singapore YouTrip card could be used for the deposit. The manager stepped in and suggested withdrawing cash instead of attempting the card, assuming it wouldn't work. It was already past 8:30pm, and I felt it would be unsafe and inconsiderate to withdraw a large amount of cash and walk back to the hotel carrying a duffel bag for my five-day stay, as safety should be considered and prioritised first. Around 8.41pm they finally decided to try the card and it worked immediately, but the delay and the lack of inconsideration left a poor first impression. During my stay, I noticed service felt inconsistent. Some guests were personally escorted to the lift by the manager, while I was only shown to the lift by the counter staff. This made me feel that service levels might vary depending on room type. In my room, from around midnight onwards, I noticed a continuous sweet, chemical-like scent from the air vent. This scent triggered my sinus and affected my rest. Based on my experience, I felt that service and room experience could be improved. I hope management considers enhancing consistency, attentiveness, and professionalism. Thank you for your attention.

Doesn't feel like a luxury hotel

The hotel looks luxurious but you definitely are not treated to a first class experience. The staff seemed constantly annoyed with people and was not welcoming to my children, with the exception of one of the lifeguards at the pool (working around 5pm on August 19) who was wonderful with the kids. I hate getting nickel and dimed and that is what it felt like especially with the buffet-- be sure you check all of your options before you pay for the breakfast buffet, including vouchers on the app and if you have credit card benefits. I had to ask several times for our preferred seating area even though it was almost empty (my kids were very excited to sit near the robot cat, and keeping them entertained was worth while for me). That said, the dinner buffet was very good (a notch above the Grand Hotel's buffet). The breakfast buffet was just fine. The hours for the amenities are terrible. Why does the pool close for 2 hours mid day? The gym doesn't open until 6:30am even though there is a big audience with jet lag and early flights that would benefit from at least a 5am open, if not 24 hours. Coffee and light pastries and fruit are available free in the lobby but not until 8am?? Also, fyi there are all kinds of little benefits you have to know to ask for, like a discount card for the SOCIE spa and certain bath amenities like loofas (why not just have things in the room??). Also the coffee in the room only included one decaf and one caffeinated coffee pod each day... not sure what the rationale was there.

A 5 stars experience

One of the best 5-star hotels in Taipei City. The lobby has a minimalist design but is decorated with many beautiful orchids, creating a strong Asian ambiance. The hotel has a distinctive and pleasant fragrance, and the room view overlooking Taipei 101 is stunning. Breakfast is diverse with plenty of options; however, the swimming pool area is not very clean. The highlight that impressed me the most is the hotel’s service, the staff are very attentive, providing excellent support and quickly guiding guests to the information they need. The location is convenient, quiet, and surrounded by many delicious food options. I will definitely return here on my next trip

I couldn’t be more pleased with my experience at this hotel! From the moment I arrived, the staff went above and beyond to make me feel welcome. Check-in was smooth and efficient, and the front desk team was friendly, professional, and incredibly helpful with my specific requests. The room was spotless and spacious with a great view of Taipei 101. The bed was super comfortable with high-quality linens. The housekeeping team did an excellent job each day, keeping everything fresh and tidy. One of the highlights was the breakfast – delicious, fresh, and with a great variety of options to suit all tastes. I highly recommend it whether you are traveling for pleasure or business!
