Perfect hotel for a city trip
The breakfast buffet was excellent with a large and good selection. An absolute plus point is that the breakfast buffet goes until 11 am and on weekends and holidays (which was the case for all 3 days for us) even until 12 pm. So we could spend some cozy time in the room in the morning and sleep in, my friend is a late riser ;) We had breakfast every day until 12 pm during our 3-day stay, and even if it was a bit empty at 11:45 am, it was immediately replenished. The staff was very accommodating, especially the lady who served us at the breakfast buffet on Good Friday, we had a very nice conversation. She was extremely friendly, without being intrusive or forcing a conversation. She had a good sense for a casual, friendly chat and also for whether we were in the mood for a conversation. My friend had his birthday that day, which I had informed the hotel about in advance. The first surprise awaited him at the breakfast buffet and when we arrived in the cleaned room in the afternoon, there was another small surprise prepared. We were very pleased with these attentions. I had searched intensively for more luxurious hotels over the Easter weekend to surprise my friend with a weekend trip for his birthday and despite really good alternatives, I decided on the Steigenberger and it was the right choice. Normally we don't stay in such expensive hotels, but it was a good offer including breakfast with timely booking through Booking and every penny was worth it. We really liked the large beautiful room with a river view and nice ambient lighting and carpet. The fitness area is small but equipped with high-quality machines, I used the treadmill and dumbbells. The sauna area is also very nice and we used it. The location of the hotel is perfect.

- • There were just a few little things that we didn't find quite optimal. The fitness area is rather small and there is no pool, but we knew that beforehand and I also weighed that when choosing the hotel. It was important to me, however, that there was a bit of fitness and wellness in case it had rained the entire time. A small downside was also that the beautiful ambient lighting in the room on the back wall of the bed was connected with a very bright lamp in the hallway. But we temporarily solved this by simply unscrewing the bulb ourselves ;) Two sinks would have been nice, but of course, that is a luxury that we would have gotten with a higher room category.
