DO NOT PAY FOR GUARANTEED CHECK IN - Very dated rooms
We knew our flight was landing early in the AM. We paid for GUARANTEED early check in. Upon trying to check in using the kiosks, we were advised our room was not ready. I went to the front desk to inquire and was told it would not be ready until between 1pm and 3pm. When we paid for GUARANTEED check in, it did ask what time we thought we would be arriving. We had been up since 3am and were ready to go to our room to rest hence paying for GUARANTEED early check in. The lady at the front desk did advise that we could get a player's suite for $100 more a night with an available upgrade. So in order to be able to lay down and rest, we had to pay for GUARANTEED check in as well as an additional $200. We chose to do this but should not have had to. The suite was a great size. However it was very dated and the bathroom was not clean. There was a used Q-tip on the floor and the bathtub was very slippery. Dangerous for my 79 year old mother to climb in an out of. Would not recommend this hotel.

Disappointing hotel
This place was a nightmare from the moment we walked in. Unclear signage, booking was cancelled without our knowledge and we still payed, casino hallway was the worst, the smoke is everywhere and so are the drunks. NOT KID OR FAMILY FRIENDLY (the hotel in general not the city)! I thought Nevada was more family friendly. We had already parked and payed so another hotel was sadly not an option. Was super bummed after the horrid experience coming in. To top that all the activities my kids wanted to do was closed. Pool? Nope. Famous roller coaster? No. The room was not much better. The bathroom door was hard to pull and no fridge. If you’re a smoker or a wild gambler stay here. You’ve been warned.

Terrible
We ate one morning last week at the America restaurant. This was the worst dining experience I ever had: The service was very very very slow, the hamburger my wife ordered was hard, tastless and cold, my omelette was cold, they never brought my pancakes, Now the kicker: they were/are doing renovation right there behind a curtain so you heard automatic tools constantly.

Vegas pricing itself out of existence?
My room itself was perfectly fine. I like the faux exposed brick that makes it look like you are in a NYC loft. The bed was comfortable. Some reviews said there were mini-fridges but I did not have one. I had a view of a wall, but the room was quiet and served as a good place to sleep. The bathroom was a nice size and the shower had nice water pressure. It should have a grab bar though. Towel rack could be closer to the shower. Check-in was pretty easy through the MGM app, but the digital room-key never worked. I ended up getting a key card. My biggest complaint about the hotel though is that all the food and drink options on site seemed ridiculously overpriced. I had a beer at a casino bar and it was $15. A slice of pizza is $9. Everything just seemed designed to separate you from your money as quickly as possible. To me it's just price-gouging and it made me not want to come back.

Great visit
We had a 2 queen room . The room was huge with so much space and it was spotless . The beds were really comfy and we had our own fridge . This hotel has everything on hand - so many restaurants and bars and reasonably priced . We would definitely return . Excellent location .

A disappointment...
Our experience started our rough which lead to a series of discovering various disappointments. Not being a high enough elite meant there was little we could do. We arrived around 230 and figured a room might not be ready given official checkin was 3. We did all the checkin stuff, less getting a room, and were told we'd get a text once a room was ready. Fast forward to after 4-430, and no text. Others in our group who arrived and checked in later had rooms. We had to wait in line only to be told to wait a bit longer. Finally spoke to someone who managed to get us a room. The elevators are slow and quite a mess. You need to scan you key to go up, which makes sense, but the reader in at least one of the elevators doesn't read fast and it could cause you to take a bit of a trip (going up or going down). The rooms are a decent size. That rollercoaster is loud. The toilet paper might be the cheaper, roughest I've ever experienced. At least check-out was somewhat seamless...

TERRIBLE CHECK-IN PROCESS
First time staying at NYNY. Chose to do bookends in Vegas on the front and back of a trip to Hawaii. On both ends we had to wait for our room when arriving around 10:00 pm. This was with already having reservations. We were told our room wasn’t ready. On the front end, they gave us a different room, 2 queens instead of the king we booked. On the back end, we waited an hour with our luggage in the lobby. Finally my husband went and asked the girl just standing there to give room keys to people, what does it take to get a room here and she told him just waiting. Never have we stayed anywhere that you have a reservation for a room and at 11:00 pm, your room is not ready. Crazy, but we will never come back to NYNY.

Very Good Value on the Strpe
Older Hotel. However the staff is good. Rooms are clean. Assorted places to eat, with out leaving the hotel. Easy to get to other areas on the stripe.

NEVER AGAIN
WE have been travelling from Ireland almost every year to Vegas for almost 30 yrs & this was without a doubt the worst room we have ever been given in all the hotels we have stayed in & that includes imploded ones!! We stayed on a 4nt comp over Valentines/Presidents day weekend & had booked an Accessible room as one of us is blind & partly disabled so we tried to check in early around noon but were told room would be resdy shortly & theyd message us but 3 hrs later still no message so went back to check & they tried to say theyd emailed us but NEVER did. They said the only room available was in the Chrysler Building so we set off to find it & take it from me trying to find this place was worse than a needle in a haystack No signs at all to guide anyone to this elusive building! Eventually we found in & took the lift to the 29th floor to what can only be described as a NIGHTMARE of a room! All right it had the 2 beds we requested crammed in but there wasnt room to swing a cat & to crown things out it was right beside the rollercoaster. The furniture consisted of a black square steel tube frame with 2 tiny cupboards that held a light jacket & 3 shirts each & there shoukd have been 3 drawers but 1 was missing also there was no luggage stand as there was no place to put it or even store your case after it was emptied so 1 case had to sit on the small table that was squeezed in beside the window. The beds were well made & clean so next thing was the accessible bathroom which was a shambles as it had a bathtub which for a blind disabled person was a nightmare but reception said it was all they had available due to the holiday weekend so in otherwords your on a comp so you will take what we give you. The bathroom despite the tub was clean & housekeeping done a good job each day, The rollercoaster is supposed to stop at midnight but was still running with squealing girls after 12-30am so bang goes that theory. The hotel other that the room was very busy Food options especially in the village are plentiful. Greenbergs deli is fantatsic especially their hot brisket sandwich Toms watch bar is good for food incl breakfast & America is a good all rounder! but the room was so disappointing that we will be giving NYNY a wide bearth in future trips. Only for the eateries it would have been getting 1 star. VERY DISAPPOINTED!!
