Super-helpful staff, lovely hotel
The hotel was great - they did everything we asked for and more. The hotel staff could not have been nicer - they were super helpful at all times. The hotel was very clean and the room was a good size. We loved the large bath! Location wise it is quite central with easy access to the Bonne Nouvelle and Sentier metros. This gave us easy access to all the sights.

A lovely hotel
A really lovely hotel. The staff are exceptionally helpful and kind. The rooms are scrupulously clean and spacious. The hotel has a calm and ambience.

Pass…a lot better options in Paris
I am trying to come up with something positive to say but drawing a blank after an extremely disappointing stay at the Hotel L’Echiquier. The location lacks charm, the rooms are tiny (we couldn’t believe our room was called a junior suite given how small it was), breakfast was sad and service, especially the person who checked us in and out, terrible…but oh wait they have Clarins bath products so that must justify all the negatives. We booked a room last minute to accommodate our early arrival to Paris because our other accommodation was not available. We had stayed at multiple Accor properties before and have always found them great so Hotel L’Echiquier seemed like a good option. But the disappointment started as soon as we stepped in…I asked Yoann, the receptionist, if someone could help my husband with the luggage — we were traveling with a lot of suitcases and a baby so an extra hand would have been helpful and his answer was a flat no…a first for me having stayed at hundreds of hotels with incredibly helpful staff. And this attitude continued - can I get an early check in? No, only if you pay…but I have Accor status that says I am eligible …no rooms available (ok so rooms are available if I pay but not otherwise). Is there a place I can change my baby’s diaper — no; where do people generally change diapers? I don’t know, in France people don’t stay in hotels with babies….and the list goes on and on. I give this hotel a hard pass!

5* hotel - great find!
The hotel was amazing- beautifully decorated, clean, modern- in a great location for walking distance to the train station and sights. The staff were so helpful, friendly and spoke brilliant English. Check in was efficient and we were chosen to select the advent calendar for the day and we won a magnum of Italian red wine, which was a lovely touch. Our room was spacious for 3 girls to get ready and sleep, clean and had all the necessities for a comfortable stay. I would 100% recommend this hotel and would certainly return. The only downfall is that we didn’t spend much time here due to a busy schedule but what a very well priced hotel that exceeded my expectations. A big shout out to the interns who were an asset to the hotel !

Great Value, Great Staff
We had a great time at L’Echiquier. By Paris standards, the rooms were spacious. If I had one complaint, it seems our shower door was attached backwards which made getting in and out a little tight. It was more of an oddity than an inconvenience. The hotel breakfast was good. We ended up eating there every morning. Less than a ten minute walk to convenient metro stations. The staff was so helpful. When we realized we accidentally booked Moulin Rouge tickets for the wrong day, Aimee was so helpful. She went back and forth with me and the Moulin Rouge for about an hour until she resolved it for us. We are very appreciative. Great value for the price. We booked through Costco travel and paid less than comparable hotels elsewhere. Would recommend.

Stunning.
This is a stunning hotel. Although not very central, for us it was ideal - walkable from Gare du Nord and Notre Dame is about a half hour walk. We walked everywhere except when we went to the Musée Marmottan (a must visit for Monet) for which metro was needed (get the bonjour RATP app for your phone - you then use your phone as a metro ticket). The room (junior suite) was a good size. Breakfast is excellent. Had dinner one night in the restaurant which was good but the restaurant virtually opposite the hotel (l’Échiquier) is not to be missed for a real Parisian experience! The reception desk was extremely helpful.

Paris at it’s Finest
The incredible experience of visiting Paris is only made better by staying at this lovely boutique hotel. The location is outstanding, the service is exquisite, the breakfasts are bountiful and delicious, and the rooms are superb. There is also a well equipped gym to help keep fit. I would highly recommend staying here as I hope to do so again.

Fine hotel - great staff!
Yet another excellent stay on this fine hotel. Perfect location. As usual room very comfortable, well appointed and the staff are superb, courteous, efficient and always ready to help. The breakfast buffet is exceptional. Thank you once again for a perfect stay in beautiful Paris!

I spent 4 weeks from 11 Oct to 13 Nov in this hotel for business meetings The service was great , the stuff is welcoming & helpful, the food is amazing ( halal) Specially thanks for : Philippe Jean Baptiste Jesus maitre d hotel He is ever helpful and smiles and polite Thanks for the Hôtel management for there great effort

Exceptional family experience
We had a truly wonderful family stay and couldn’t recommend this hotel more a solid 5/5. The setting is beautiful, the location absolutely ideal, and our room was spotless and very comfortable. Breakfast each morning was excellent, with a great variety of fresh, high-quality options. The service really stood out. Every member of the team was attentive, professional and genuinely welcoming from start to finish. A special mention to César at the front desk incredibly helpful throughout our stay and full of fantastic recommendations that the children absolutely loved. An outstanding family experience from beginning to end. We can’t wait to return!
