Overall satisfied with my stay at this well-kept property. But the price is too high compared to the services

Quality and originality of the Decor. Convenient location

  • Lack of garden or green space. Price a bit excessive, in my opinion, despite the breakfast and airport transfer included.

Beautiful hotel

Breakfast was lovely but the staff seemed very unhappy if you deviated from the system - for example, wanting to wait between courses.

  • More space in the bedroom. It was so tight that we kept banging our shins.

A fabulous boutique hotel with excellent service, in a very central location.

Very central location. Lots of restaurants, bars, cafes, hawker centers in the vicinity. Compact shower & toilet, good toiletries & diffuser. The staff are excellent! Always helpful, polite, accommodating & attentive. Fabulous breakfast with good variety & delicious! There’s a lovely bar with great cocktails, drinks & snacks. I will stay there again and I strongly recommend this lovely boutique hotel.

  • It was a bit hard to get into & out of the king-size bed as you can only get in from the end of the bed. Lighting in the room is a bit dim

A small hiccup in the bedroom department

Excellent location, a gorgeous area with traditional shopfront restaurants and cafes. Close to a train station, bus route. Easy to get to the Marina Bay area if you're after a walk and exploration. The bar and restaurant staff were always happy for a chat and to recommend places in the surroundings to go for exploration or food. Across from a 7/11 if you need other supplies. The perks of staying included breakfast, afternoon tea, and evening drinks and snacks that were delicious.

  • Our bed and mattress were sinking quite significantly in the center which made for some uncomfortable sleep. I would expect that they would be about ready for replacement.

Unique & Charming Stay at Duxton Reserve!

As a frequent traveler, I’m always on the hunt for stays that feel more than just a hotel—and Duxton Reserve delivered exactly that. I spent four nights in their base suite, and while it’s a small-scale property, its historic charm and standout perks made it one of my most memorable Singapore stays. Let’s start with the star of the show: the food and drinks. Breakfast is top-tier—no boring buffets here, just a full a la carte menu with tons of options, all crafted to perfection. Every dish felt thoughtful and high-quality, and the service was attentive without being overbearing. The nightly happy hour is another win: great drinks and tasty bites (even if portions are small, the quality more than makes up for it). Plus, the restaurant’s artful decor adds such a nice vibe—eating there never felt like a typical hotel meal. Service shines too, which makes sense for a boutique property. The staff remembered my name and room number from day one, and their attention to detail was spot-on. Even the laundry service was excellent—fast, thorough, and handled with care. It’s the kind of personalized service that big chain hotels often miss, and it made the stay feel so much warmer. Now, the suite itself: it’s a basic suite in a historic building, so manage your expectations for modern amenities. The decor has old-world charm, but the ceiling is low, and there’s a light fixture right above the bed that makes sitting up or leaning forward a little tricky (you might bump your head if you’re not careful). The space isn’t huge for a suite with a living area, and I could hear a faint buzzing sound from the bathroom. Also, the windows are small, so there’s not much natural light or views. But honestly? For a historic property, they’ve done a great job—these quirks are part of its charm, and they didn’t bother me once I got used to them. Location can’t be beaten—it’s right in the city center, steps from the MRT and a food court. Getting around to meetings or exploring the area was a breeze, with plenty of cafes, shops, and attractions nearby. Overall, Duxton Reserve is a gem for travelers who value character, great food, and personal service over flashy modernity. The historic touches make it feel unique, and the standout dining and staff more than make up for the suite’s minor quirks. I’d absolutely recommend it—especially if you want a stay that feels authentic to Singapore’s vibe. Can’t wait to come back!

Come for the vibes, but pass on the Old Fashioned

My husband and I were only able to enjoy one night at the Duxton as our last night in Singapore during our honeymoon and I wish we had more nights here. We were first very courteously greeted by Andi who notified us when our room was ready and even prepared a surprise for our honeymoon! She was also very communicative through WhatsApp to have our desired drinks ready upon our check-in. Next was Lahiru who helped us with our bags as well as offered us an umbrella for our explorations since it was anticipated to rain. Lee Chung made breakfast feel like an auntie was serving us all her home dishes and she even helped take some pics of us. The one thing I would say was definitely not worth the value were the old fashioned drinks we ordered at the bar. It cost nearly 70 Singapore dollars for 2 and were extremely watery and not well made for the cost. That may be the only drink not well made though because we had the most amazing espresso martini and negroni upon check-in!

Staff made the hotel experience.

Very unique hotel design. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Got upgraded to the loft room and the bathroom is a bit dark but really appreciated the additional space. Front desk kept trying to get me last-minute reservations at the few restaurants I wanted to go to and they managed to get one for me. Also always made sure my cup was full of iced americano.
