Amazing first experience with a more luxury hotel
The location was great. The hotel had a great design, good comfort, amazing view. Also Robert was one of the best staff members, providing us with all the requests we had, even cooked food late into the night. We additionally had the best pillows i have ever slept on

- • The bathroom ventilation did not work properly so the room stayed very humid after showers. The ventilation and AC in the hotel room was not very powerful, struggling to get to 19°C Also very very crowded, both at the restaurant/breakfast place, and the pool

Almost nothing. Only the location near the old city

- • The hotel is simply old and outdated. It has a very depressing atmosphere. There was a terrible smell on the 19th floor, and it was almost impossible to breathe from the moment you stepped out of the elevator until you reached the room. The room was of a very low standard, not clean, and poorly maintained. The balcony was an embarrassment, with barely any flooring. The breakfast buffet was large, but it felt more like a summer camp cafeteria than a hotel breakfast.
Not what you are expecting - tired hotel with hard working staff but lacking the 5 star feel
The Staff on reception, especially Corina and the security team, were super helpful and understanding.

- • Where do I start?! I travelled for my birthday with friends; we arrived at the hotel late at night and were taken to our room. First impression: there was a lady outside our door, with a strong smell of cigarettes and a pack in her hand. She clearly was not smoking, but she had recently smoked several in succession, which had allowed the smoke to go into our room. I called the reception and asked if this was a smoking hotel; she said: "No, but if you want, you can smoke on the balcony!" I said, I didn't want... in fact, I had requested a non-smoking room, so was not happy that you are saying I could be surrounded by smokers on their balconies. I had written this on my booking notes and would have preferred to stay at a hotel that upheld its rules. it. Was a 5-star hotel after all?? She moved my room, and the next room had constant dripping in the bathroom - she moved my room again, and this was not bad. The breakfast was basic and badly organised. There was no reflection that this was a 5-star hotel, as I have stayed in plenty, and in all circumstances I blame Booking. com for not checking the standard of the hotels before it allows us to book. This hotel was old, worn, needed major refurbishment and had so many facilities closed or double booked out even though they were advertising them to paying customers - for instance, the sky bar on the 21st floor was a feature on the booking notes after all the hotel is the tallest in the city yet, They had also rented the space to a group of israeli tourist so they could have a kosher kitchen - again, I wish i had been informed about this as I would have been able to make an informed choice to stay or re book else where. The quality of the hotel was, and is not, up to that of a 5-star hotel anywhere I have ever been to. It's dated, with a smashed window on the entrance, no concierge. Also, the Spa was not in working order.
Third Rate experice that should have been so much better.
The breakfast was a nightmare. The way the food was laid out, the choice and the quality were very much 3-star regarding service and offerings. On a number of days, the breakfast room was so overrun we couldn't even get a table; not the best at all.

- • I didn't like that nothing worked. I moved rooms twice because of old or broken things in the room, the breakfast offering, pants, the spa, broken- yes, the whole experience was not as expected. Very third-rate. This hotel needs a serious injection of cash to upgrade - EVERYTHING!!!
All good!
