Three nights at the Lider Palace hotel
The staff were lovely and helpful. The room was simple but comfortable. For us the location was fine: close to the Paraguayan border. A longish walk to the bus terminal but we found the Easybus, the one we needed, passed right in front of the hotel so it was perfect. We even ate in the hotel and the meal was good. If you are not looking for luxury and want something better than a hostel then this is a good choice. And mainly Brazilian guests, which we liked!

- • Maybe a few toiletries in the bathroom. We were traveling light and had forgotten to pack shampoo or shower gel.

- • Old, dark, ugly, musty smell. Outlets far from the bed and table. It may have been good at some point, but it has definitely stopped in time. Far from everything. At checkout, I was charged for items I didn't order during my stay. The attendant - who thought I was lying to avoid paying for a juice and a sandwich - made me sign a paper stating that I didn't consume anything. It's 2026, there are efficient ways to control consumption. It's very amateurish.
Don't go there, the building is falling apart.
Nothing special, at least there was space.

- • There was a loud humming in the whole hotel. Like they had a giant refrigerator, probably they didn't change the filter of the AC. Not possible to sleep without earplugs. In room 420, the floors are uneven, there are holes inside. It smells like sweat all the time, could be a sign of mold. The water pipes and windows are rusty. My window couldn't even close correctly. After all, this is a dump. I don't think they could change anything about the problems without completely demolishing the place and building another hotel. It's like they haven't had maintenance in 20 years and the hotel is 50 years old. The concierge wanted to let my friend pay for stuff she didn't use, too. A real dump, sorry for the staff, they do what they can. But the building is not worth it.
