- • Given that the hotel is in an extremely scenic location, the sandblasted windows afforded no outside view from the room. We would request a different room with a view next time.

- • It felt a bit outdated. It looks very fancy but there are some cracks here and there and place needs some work. Especially bathroom and some of the walls. The bed was so not really luxurious as one would expect for that price. it should look and immaculate all over.

The Last Word is a marvel. Well located in the heart of Franschhoek village, we could not have wished for a more friendly ‘home away from home’.

Gorgeous hotel in a perfect location with the friendliest staff
OBSESSED with everything about this hotel! The location, the cozy lobby, the beautiful room, and the friendliest staff!! We arrived late in the evening when most restaurants in town were closed, so Andee, who is sunshine in living form, found us snacks in the kitchen. The help yourself drink station the lobby is extremely well stocked and the lobby is so welcoming, we saw other guests just relaxing there. The rooms are massive and extremely comfortable (and stylish!). Breakfast is great. All of the staff is incredibly helpful and accommodating, we loved everyone! The location is walkable to the main stretch in town, with a bunch of restaurants nearby, as well as the wine tram station. But the hotel is set back from the main road so we didn’t hear any noise at all. We would stay here again in a heartbeat!

Perfect Franschhoek Getaway
Franklin and his staff were excellent and went above and beyond to make our stay perfect. The breakfast spread is very good. The rooms are spacious and clean beautifully decorated.
