Basic accommodations for a family of 4

Our room had 4 bunk beds and a queen-sized bed. They don't want you eating in your room but there is a kitchen with seating on the first floor. In the morning there is bad coffee, juice, cereal, and toast. This was nice as most eating establishments are not open before 10. The hostel was conveniently located near to the Jungang market and to the 7 bus to Seoraksan. The 7 and 9 bus were convenient to many further tourist attractions. We also easily walked to Abai village and Yeonggungjeom Pavilion.

A good choice of stay at Sokcho

Room is clean with limited furniture. The location of the accommodation is quite alright. Major tourist sites are within walking distance. Close to city bus stop with a 3-min walk only. Easy access to bus for Seoraksan National Park. The shortcut to Inter City Bus Terminal takes no more than 10 minutes. If time is right you may enjoy the sunrise from the rooftop terrace.

James Blue, Sokcho Guest House, comfortable, satisfied

Sokcho Dongmyeonghang/Geumgang Bridge is a guest house close to it. For breakfast, toast/strawberry jam/cornflakes/milk/tangerine juice/coffee are provided. It is quite satisfying for the price, and I would like to come back again. It was so good that I wanted to come back, and although I didn't see the owner much, he was very kind.

Reasonable, clean, and good service hotel

Reasonable with breakfast (coffee, toast, and cereal) included. It is less than a 10-minute walk from the intercity bus terminal. The location in front of the harbor with a view of the sea was excellent.

Very good welcome by James, information on things to do. Clean room and very good value for money. Slight downside - window view wall and noisy sink drain. Good location for visiting and bus stops very close. Good guesthouse.

Located remotely. No public transportation near the hotel. No convenience store nor restaurants nearby. We arrived around four in the afternoon and found the restaurant in the hotel closed. There is not even a vending machine. We ended up fasting for the day.

Honest accommodation review

Other than good beds and water pressure, it's not recommended. It might be more honest to say that the European-style breakfast consists of just two toasts and cereals. The restaurant was unclean in terms of cleanliness, and most chairs and tables were quite shaky. You will need to bring your own personal cutlery set, plates, and bowls if sharing with others is uncomfortable for you. If you are a customer who needs conditioner, you should bring your own as only shampoo and body cleanser are provided. If you want daily housekeeping, you should mention it to the owner. Otherwise, skip it. Overall disappointment, the reviews, photos, and information seem quite different from reality.
