Good value for money, enjoyable stay, and we would happily book there again.
Friendly and welcoming host. The continental breakfast had a good selection, with optional cooked extras available like scrambled eggs and bacon if you wanted something more substantial. We found the continental breakfast perfectly adequate. A nice bonus was being able to feed the sheep and alpacas during the stay. The location also suited us well, roughly midway between the airport and Dunedin, which worked perfectly as we had a hire car.

- • The room we stayed in did not have the private ensuite bathroom we were expecting from the listing. Instead, the bathroom was located down a hallway. To be fair, it appeared to be exclusively for our use, so in practice it worked reasonably well, but it was not quite what we had anticipated. The owner mentioned this was the only room configured this way, and that the other rooms have proper ensuites.

Quiet rural location only 10 minutes from town

Excellent. If in the same area, we'll choose to stay there again.
Because of our ages (one being 97), we particularly liked being offered downstairs rooms, opening to a large deck where we listened to bell birds and tuis. What a joy that was.
