Nice comfortable room, clean, mattress from my personal taste was a tad too soft. Breakfast was beautifully presented, well-cooked, and the coffee was perfect.

- • The hotel is situated beside a busy road so there was a lot of noise, just something to be aware of.
The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was large, comfortable, very clean, and well decorated.

- • The noise from lorries on the road during the night. This was probably worse as it was very hot (during a heatwave) and we had the windows open. Also, it's a diversion route due to HS rail being built.

- • Had a room at the front. Quite a lot of road noise, but no major problem. It is situated off an A road and we were aware of this when booking.
What made it stand out was the people. Very friendly and helpful.
All of the staff were very friendly and helpful and really treated us as guests rather than customers. They would chat to us about our day, tell us about the history of the hotel, and Steve even showed us around all of his building projects that have been featured on George Clarke's Amazing Spaces.

- • The TV sound quality wasn't great. Maybe a newer one is needed. Road noise from the HS2 traffic at night can be disturbing if you are a light sleeper, especially if it is hot weather and you need the window open.
Our friend's 70th surprise party was booked at the hotel, so we opted to stay. Lovely ground floor room. Staff extremely helpful and friendly. Kitchen not opened when we arrived, Georgie was great and made us a sandwich. Thanks to Paul who gave us a tour around the grounds. The barge was amazing and I think the 'cake' room I think it was called was a real surprise.

- • We couldn't fault the hotel. The directions to the hotel were difficult due to H2 roadworks. Handy to allow a little extra travel time.
Very friendly staff, comfortable room, great breakfast. Highly recommended will stay again.
