A comfortable stay in a central place in York
The room was very clean and comfortable, and the entry via keypad very easy to follow.

It's a nice place with some curious potential drawbacks.
It's a well-appointed, reasonably-priced place to stay, just a pleasant stroll from the city's historical/touristy district.

- • The room was very small and the bed was tucked lengthwise in a long narrow alcove about eight inches wider than the bed itself. This isn't a terrible idea, but I somehow managed to fall out of bed and into that little gap. I couldn't get a hold of the bed or lever myself up to climb back in so I had to wiggle out of the gap feet-first, which took about ten minutes and left me with grazes in some uncomfortable places. This is not the fault of the proprietors - I've explained it because in my case it's a funny story - but it occurs to me that a less able-bodied person might get into serious trouble here - and if they did so outside business hours, as I did, it might be a long time before anybody heard a cry for help. This could get awkward. I'm not sure what can be done about this but it might be something for the proprietors to think about.

- • Bathroom small and shower was not clean on the floor when we arrived. Shower not very powerful and the backplate on shower lever came loose while we were there.

- • The heat wave we had been experiencing made the room unbearable even with the fan they provided we actually had our own with us and that didn’t help it was just the weather
