Incredible stay at the Four Seasons hotel Otemachi

Stayed at the four seasons hotel Otemachi in Tokyo and I have to stay the kindness and hospitality that was shown to us was truly incredible. We arrived at 6:30am because we had a very early flight and they had our room ready for us which was very nice. We did message them to tell them that our flight was going to be arriving very early in the day. The room was stunning with beautiful views of Tokyo. The hotel itself is located on the 39th through 36th floors of a very tall building in the financial area of Tokyo. It is very close to a lot of attractions as well as the imperial Palace. The decor of the hotel is absolutely stunning with breathtaking views and the most gorgeous flowers. They have two restaurants and a fabulous bar. The room was gorgeous with a beautiful large bathroom and the most comfortable bed. What makes this hotel truly special is the kindness and caring of the employees who work at the hotel. They have a beautiful spa and gym and a gorgeous indoor pool with breathtaking views. I highly recommend staying at this hotel. You will not be disappointed.

The hotel was beautiful, well maintained, and offered a very pleasant atmosphere. The service was good, and the staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. We enjoyed our time at the hotel and appreciated the hospitality we received. Overall, it was a very enjoyable experience, and we would be happy to recommend it to others. A special thank you goes to MS. Airi the lady working at the bar . We truly appreciate all your help, kindness, and efforts throughout our stay. Absolutely top tier

We stayed here for five incredible days, everything about the hotel was outstanding, it is a beautiful property with well appointed rooms and friendly and helpful staff. The food at the restaurants on site was delicious. A special thank you to George for the hospitality and recommendations, he made our stay even more memorable. We will definitely be back

Excellent hard product, superior service from Eri.

Wonderful hard product but what stands out for me is the care I received from Eri at the breakfast restaurant. I was unwell during my stay with symptoms mimicking gastroparesis and Eri was both helpful and concerned about my state over the remainder of my stay. She is a real treasure and I wanted to recognize her so I gave positive feedback to Norbert, part of F&B leadership and he was a delight also. Brecht also provided great, attentive service at breakfast. We really enjoyed the food offering and gorgeous views. Room was wonderful and housekeeping did not miss a beat. They had incredible attention to detail. Cherry at the entrance of the property was super proactive, helpful and gracious. We appreciated her arranging transport for us on multiple occasions. The bell staff are also super helpful and polite. Overall great stay.

A Refined Stay in the Heart of Otemachi

The hotel offers a level of quality comparable to Four Seasons, while its design is beautifully aligned with the local architectural style. The Otemachi area is also very pleasant—clean, safe, and comfortable for walking and exploring. The only downside is that the hotel lobby is located on a high floor of the building. As a result, you need to use two different elevators to get to your room.

Spacious room, excellent breakfast

We had very good experience from checkin to checkout. The room is spacious, sadly the rooftop of other building has blocked the view. The breakfast was the nicest I have ever had. Variety of selection and food rotated day to day. Must try bento set. The gym was large with good choices of equipment. Enough counter space for all your stuff, luggage, and hangers for clothes. Close to Imperial Palace is a bonus. Walkable distance to Ginza is a nice bonus as well.

Very direct and dismissive welcome.

Dismissive, very direct and bordering on rude. Our check in experience was not Japanese at all. You will find a better welcome at the Ritz Carlton with a better hard product.

Certainly one to Consider

Exceptional hotel in every way. Across from the Imperial Gardens, everything was convenient to its location. Service was incredibly attentive and instant without making you feel “crowded”. All amenities matched.

I would never hesitate to stay at the FS Otemachi for two main reasons: 1) the experience Main reasons: 1) the experience at Otemachi itself was flawless. Service, food.

Four Seasons - A dying Brand?

The Four Seasons Hotel Tokyo at Otemachi presents, at first glance, exactly what one expects from the brand. The design is elegant, the rooms are refined, and the overall environment is calm and composed. However, once you move beyond that surface, the experience begins to unravel. We paid for an upgraded room, only to be downgraded on arrival due to occupancy. That is disappointing, but more importantly, it was poorly handled. There was no ownership, no recovery, and no real sense of care. We had also arranged a bottle of champagne for our arrival to celebrate our anniversary. It was not delivered. When we raised this, we were told outright that no such booking had been made. Only after presenting written confirmation did the position change, and even then, the response lacked professionalism. The tone, reaction, and body language were dismissive and inappropriate for a hotel of this calibre. This seems to be a global trend now, to employ youngsters in snior positions that lack experience and morales and values. When we requested to speak with senior leadership, both the Hotel Manager and General Manager were said to be unavailable. No follow-up was made, and no attempt to recover the situation. That absence is telling. More concerning were the fundamentals on the floor. At the restaurant, hygiene and operational discipline fell well below expectation. We observed unacceptable food handling behind the pizza counter as well as the Chef picking his nose repeatedly whilst preparing food. Glassware arrived with visible lipstick marks, and a pasta dish was served cold. These are not minor lapses. These are basics. In luxury hospitality, the basics are non-negotiable. Equally concerning was the presence and engagement of the F&B leadership team. There appeared to be a lack of active oversight during service, with team members visibly disengaged and at times focused on mobile devices rather than the guest experience directly in front of them. In a property of this level, leadership should be visible, present, and setting the standard on the floor at all times. This points to a deeper issue. Systems may exist, but they are not being consistently executed. The result is a stay that feels transactional rather than considered. The physical product and location are strong. The foundation is there. But great hotels are not defined by design alone. They are defined by people, standards, and the discipline to deliver both, every time. Reliability is the baseline. This property did not consistently meet that baseline during our stay. Overall, this is a hotel that looks the part but does not always perform it. It is comfortable and well-designed, and clearly capable of excellence, but in this instance, it fell short where it matters most. After a extremely disappointing experience at the Four Seasons Hotel Singapore, it raises broader questions around consistency across the brand.
