The location worked for me and my daughter. It was a weekend getaway for the both of us.
We were there for a weekend getaway and enjoyed the location. We watched the baseball game and it was close to the stadium. Also enjoyed the services. Front desk: Mohammed. We checked in early and he pre-checked us in and explained that we would receive a text message once the room was ready. And we did! :) As we had arrived early, Scott helped us store our luggage while my daughter and I explored the city. When we checked out, Thomas received our luggage for storage so we could explore the St. Lawrence Market which was about a 15 minute walk from the hotel. Our room server, Jibyl delivered our breakfast order. Ascension - housekeeping.

Excellent hotel, but be aware of elevators
The location is perfect. It is across Union Station and within walking distances to Eaton Centre and excellent restaurants. The hotel's interior is superb. The room was clean and nicely decorated. The painting on the wall was lovely. The bed was very comfortable, and the washroom was clean, functional, and had very nice toiletries. The internet worked well. The hotel's hosts were courteous, professional, and efficient.

- • The new computarized system used for calling the elevators was by far the most annoying thing I ever encountered in a hotel. It may work for smaller hotels, but for a hotel of the size and prestige of the Royal York hotel, this was a big disappointment. The system fails to accommodate people with young children, with many suitcases, or seniors, especially when the hotel is very busy. Since I was, apparantly, too slow to arrive at the allocated elevator, the computer changed the allocation and locked me out afterward. I seriously considered taking the stairs only to avoid having to use this system. Sometimes, old ways of doing things are better.

- • How dirty the rooms were. Sheets were stained. Coke spilt on the night stand wasn't cleaned. Found a pill under the bed. We had 2 kids with us and finding the pill was a little alarming
