The hotel is unlike anything from the pictures that are advertised. The hotel is centrally located and in the historic centre. Yes, if you are unlucky and get a room facing the street it does get loud as there is a bar/restaurant with a roof-top bar right across the street. Light sleepers will not like this. The courtyard of the hotel, the inside, is quite dark and desolate. It's as if others have already avoided this hotel. In advertisements a renovation was mentioned, the rooms are far from recently renovated. The bathrooms look old, there is no chair to sit down in the room, no table to put your things or laptop on. The first morning I was excited to have a mexican breakfast - free of charge as it is part of the room charge. Instead of bringing me breakfast, I was handed a food-menu with prices. I avoided having breakfast and this entire behavior by the staff made me think that this hotel might be a scam: Not renovated, desolate and dark inside, you have to pay for free breakfast. Other reviews say the staff is nice, well, they have to be to pull off this scam-hotel.

Ebano Boutique Hotel is worth staying at

The Ebano Boutique Hotel was a great experience for us when we recently traveled to Oaxaca!! The rooms were very nice and the Staff was so accommodating!! Carlos was such a huge help to us with his recommendations of things to see in the area and also made sure we were taken care of when we were at the hotel. Breakfasts were very tasty. Rooftop had excellent views of the city at nighttime, don't miss going up there! We would definitely recommend staying here, great central location too!!

Great location, atmosphere and service

From the moment we got there, the staff was always available, ready to help and provide guidance. Location is perfect and all the top sites and restaurants were within an easy walk. Highly recommend.

The staff and location of the hotel were its best features; otherwise, the hotel has not been updated in a long time. The rooms are old and outdated.

Amazing Time in Oaxaca

We had a week in this hotel and I would say it was an excellent stay. We were impressed from the moment we arrived. The staff was warm and helpful, making us feel very welcome right away. Our room was beautiful, spotless, quiet and very comfortable. We specially appreciated Carlos and his team. We had a great breakfast, quick check in and Carlos gave us a guide and suggestions where to go and where to eat. He went above and beyond to make my birthday very special. Thank you for making our visit so enjoyable- we would definitely stay here again!

Definitely a place to stay!!!

We wanted to share how incredible our recent trip to Oaxaca, Mexico was, largely thanks to the exceptional staff at Palacio Borghese. Don Carlos and Farid, in particular, went above and beyond to enhance every aspect of our stay. They ensured our rooms were meticulously cared for, provided refreshing drinks every time we returned to the hotel, and offered a fantastic list of must-see attractions, all within walking distance. Their coordination of reliable transportation with local taxi services was also invaluable, contributing to a truly five-star hotel experience. The hotel itself is unique, with the charm of a converted home or villa, making it feel very cute and cozy. The entire staff was wonderful, and the food from their menu was delicious.
