- • You could sometimes hear people walking, but that's almost unavoidable in an old building in Ghent.
Quiet and central with some compromises on comfort
Charming B+B in a renovated backyard of a former bakery. Very central yet quiet location. Small garden. Lovingly decorated. Friendly, interesting host.

- • The room was small and, like the other two, opened onto the small garden. The balcony door was the only way to let in light and air, but it also meant having a view into the other rooms or from there into ours. There was neither a wardrobe nor a chest of drawers to store clothes. In our room, there was a third bed that we didn't need, further limiting the space. In the photos, it can be seen that it is a sofa bed. If the host had folded it up, we would have had both a seating area in the room and more space. After the first night, we were completely covered in mosquito bites, on the second evening, we killed around 30 mosquitoes and spent the (very warm) night in a closed room. The next morning, we found out that there was a mosquito net that could have been pulled over. We hadn't noticed it, but we don't understand why there was no mention of it, especially on tropical warm days. We had to sleep on a translucent cheap synthetic bed sheet and with very hard pillows. The breakfast was okay but could be a bit more abundant for €20. Conclusion: too expensive for what it offers.

The welcome is charming! The person who prepares breakfast is also very charming. Close to the center of Ghent as well.

- • The layout of the rooms is a bit 'make-do', the rooms are poorly insulated, and the charming terrace in the photo is shared with the neighboring room!

Lovely place to explore the peaceful Ghent from!
Really fantastic! From the outside, you can't imagine that there's such a paradise behind the front door. We had the room downstairs at the back on the left. It borders a small garden where it's incredibly quiet despite the central location. This room shares the garden with another room. We found our room very comfortable: luxury towels, beautiful decor, fresh and clean, lovely mattresses. We think the location is perfect. Within a 10-minute walk to the old town. More than enough coffee shops within a few minutes' walk. Lovely city, very friendly people, lovely b&b!! Thanks Polo for everything!!

- • The b&b is a beautiful old and exceptionally beautifully renovated building. Sometimes a bit noisy, but we didn't find that to be a problem.
