Good reception
We loved the hotel. Well located and with plenty of free parking spaces in front of the hotel. The staff is friendly and attentive, the reception is open 24 hours, there are 2 free coffee machines available at the entrance, and they also usually have lemon water for those who wish to serve themselves, even if they do not purchase breakfast. The rooms are large and the beds are spacious and comfortable. We have stayed at hotels from the same chain before, but this one surprised us positively.

- • We did not like the issues with the booking regarding whether a child was included or not. On booking, it had a child included, but the hotel did not have that information.

- • I had never been to this hotel before, I was recommended by a friend, so I made the reservation, but in the end. HOWEVER, it was a bad and very bad experience when I arrived in the room, it was as hot as an oven, a sauna, and to make matters worse, the CENTRAL AIR CONDITIONING WAS NOT WORKING, there was an AIR CONDITIONER in the room that was even defective, I called the hotel employee who promptly came, but insisted that the device was a PORTABLE AIR CONDITIONER, which it is not, and I did not insist on the subject because I noticed the lack of knowledge about the device, but he was helpful anyway. However, after many attempts, I discovered what was wrong with the device, which was a side key that did not lock, and finally we put a card to lock the key so that it would work, HOWEVER, the AIR CONDITIONER is not suitable for this type of environment. After much insistence, the employee turned on the CENTRAL AIR CONDITIONING, which alleviated the situation, but the room remained hot, we left it on to return later to sleep. When we returned, the room was cooler not because the CENTRAL AIR CONDITIONING was cooling, but because the night had come and cooled down, we managed to sleep, but to our surprise, I woke up around 4 a.m. with the room hot, the CENTRAL AIR CONDITIONING turned off again, I had to call reception to turn on the CENTRAL AIR CONDITIONING again, which was the only thing that was cooling, even though it was not an AIR CONDITIONER because either it was defective or the hotel management had ordered it to be turned off to save energy and reduce costs, this is very sad, it was a bad experience and even though I have business there in Cantanhede, I don't know if I will stay at the hotel again despite the room itself being great and the bed comfortable, but because of what happened with the AIR CONDITIONER, which is essential in this heat that we unfortunately were let down.
