Best hostel in NZ
A lovely eccentric hostel, very clean and quiet. The staff are very attentive and all spaces are clean and have a real homey feeling. A place where you can put up feet and just relax surrounded by books and a cozy fireplace.

Value for money for a night to just rest between travels. Bed is comfortable, bathrooms are clean.

The place is so nice, the staff, the people were so kind. I like the decoration of the place. The kitchen has everything. Nothing to complain.

Picton September 2026
Beautiful vintage hostel, perfect for an overnight stay if you're taking the night ferry to Picton. Great atmosphere, the owners are incredibly friendly, the kitchen is well-equipped, and breakfast is included, all for an unbeatable price. Located very close to the ferry terminal, so you don't have to drive far after your trip, and it also includes free parking. The hostel is beautifully decorated with murals, you can see the dedication and love the owners have put into maintaining it. Everything was very clean overall, well-heated, and the beds are comfortable. They don't mind a late check-in at all. We arrived around 12:30 pm and they were waiting for us at reception, which we really appreciated. Our stay was short, but I would definitely return to this hostel 😄

Great location, unique and homely interior. Warm and welcoming staff. Special thanks to Sheira (hopefully spelt correctly) - the owner who was so sweet, gregarious and instantly made me feel at home. If you’re in Picton. This is the place to stay!
