Book a lake view room, you won't regret it.
This place is very well kept and managed, the owners are kind and helpful. We had a two bedroom lake view apartment which was very clean and comfortable, loved sitting on the balcony looking over the lake, it was beautiful. The beds were comfortable and it was very quiet throughout the night, beautiful bath tub for relaxing in and great water pressure. A few minutes drive to town and a supermarket not far to buy supplies for the self-catering kitchen, which has all you need to make meals. Unfortunately the weather wasn't great during our visit in early May, I imagine in summer this place would be awesome with plenty to do and see or just relax on balcony with a drink and watch the world go by. Loved the cat that follows it's owner everywhere, very homey. Would love to stay here again, thank you Anchorage Resort for your hospitality.

The best resort.
The hotel manager was great. Very kind and helpful with everything. Great recommendations for food cafes, and what’s in and around the resort. Also $10 for hired bikes, but our bike ride was a short ride (on the schedule I had running) and he gave it to us for free. People like him make the resort, stay, and also the city of Taupo a great experience.
