- • A very comfortable bed in a vintage style, so a bit short for tall people... a detail.
Interesting and comfortable property in a great location with wonderful helpful staff.
The building itself was fascinating and very comfortable, as were the fabulous museum pieces throughout the property. Very comfortable bed and modern bathroom.

A delightful Peranakan experience in the heart of Melaka
We were impressed by how clean and modern the hotel was, and yet, it was filled with rich history and Peranakan heritage in every nook and corner. Everything about our stay was wonderful, especially the outstanding staff. They were incredibly warm, welcoming, and took the time to recommend nearby attractions and restaurants. I even accidentally left my shoes behind after checking out, and Chester kindly arranged to courier them back to me—such a thoughtful gesture that went above and beyond. Breakfast was another highlight. We especially loved the Nyonya curry laksa, bihun siam, and the wide selection of Nyonya kuih - truly delicious. Our room was spacious and thoughtfully stocked with a generous assortment of complimentary snacks and drinks. The bed was firm yet comfortable, and after walking about in the sweltering June heat, returning to a cool, relaxing room was the perfect respite. The location is unbeatable—right in the heart of the UNESCO World Heritage Site and within walking distance of the Stadthuys, A Famosa, the Melaka River, and Jonker Street. We only spent one night here, but it was memorable and we'll surely be back.

- • Nothing at all.
A living museum.
5 Heeren is a delight to the senses and an unforgettable accommodation experience for lovers of nostalgia especially Nyonya and Baba (Peranakan) culture. It is an exclusive and premium accommodation offering a window into one of Malacca's cultural roots. The property is reminiscent of a lovingly and slowly built mini museum. It has a charming cluttered feel and yet so engaging in its uniqueness and beauty. We delighted in the property’s incredibly long structural layout, restored fit out – lots of hand made glass light fittings, beautiful and authentic finishings and furnishings. The guest room was clean, cosy, fitted with warm lighting and furnished with genuine period pieces. The solid wood 4 poster bed added a touch of nostalgia. On a slightly different note, the bathroom was updated and contemporary. Accommodation was clean and spacious. Breakfast was included and came with a large variety including Peranakan style classics like white chicken with rice ball, nasi lemak, rendang, roti canai, nyonya laksa not to mention a wonderful array of local deserts (kuih-muih). Simple but nice beverages like coffee, tea and its variants were offered. The eating venue was in the sunken and covered courtyard where an ancient well once stood. The food's flavours were mouth-watering, and it was a memorable and highly satisfying nyonya meal. 5 Heeren is a brilliant accommodation if you have interest in and enjoy Peranakan culture and lifestyle. Conveniently located as part of old Malacca’s Chinatown giving direct proximity yet providing seclusion being just off the main tourist strip. It exceeded our expectations and we would only be too happy to return for another immersive experience when the opportunity arises.
